There is a lot of jargon used in both the psychological and educational fields, often it appears that neither really understands the other. Add to that dynamic, the personal knowledge you have of your own child and what their needs are. It’s no wonder we sometimes feel like despite all the paperwork and meetings and talking, we don’t seem to make any progress.
Both Emily and Kintara have extensive experience working within a range of schools, supporting a wide range of students. Kintara specialises in gifted and 2e learners and Emily’s expertise in in the area of literacy support. We both ‘walk the walk’ and ‘talk the talk’ of the jargon and can help close the gap to support the development of a learning plan that presents a win-win situation for all involved.
Executive Summary
The Emergence Team will create a condensed summary of data that has been given to you by a range of other professionals. We will then help ‘translate’ this into what this might look like in a classroom for you to give to the school. The cost of creating this summary is $250 – this includes an hour zoom interview with your to help develop a clear understanding of your family needs.
Parent Social Group
An opportunity for parents of gifted and 2e children to meet and share experiences. Emily has qualifications in Child and Family Counselling and Kintara is well on her way to being a qualified Psychologist. This group is not therapy, but an opportunity to share lived experience and lean into our experience with navigating the school system. Homeschool parents are also welcome to share their experiences too.
